3D printed resin
“Wands” explores the commercialisation of nature and gender. The pieces are created from digitial sculpture and 3D scans of orchids, which are then 3D printed in resin and dyed to add a pink pigment. The designs play into the girliness in consumerism referring to the idea of girls toys and womens sex toys. They critique the association of womens closeness to nature through representations of flora and fauna, with some, consisting of ‘cute’ animals that mimic familiar characters.
